The Australian coach Andrew McDonald has reportedly requested the ICC to consider stricter actions against verbal altercations during matches following an incident in the ongoing India-Australia Test series. The controversy revolves around an exchange between Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head during the Adelaide Test. Siraj’s fiery send-off to Head after dismissing him led to heated words being exchanged, and both players were subsequently penalized for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct.

Siraj received a 20% match fee fine and a demerit point for actions deemed provocative under Article 2.5 of the ICC Code, while Head also received a demerit point but escaped a fine. This disparity sparked discussions, with Siraj alleging that Head’s remarks were abusive despite his claim of merely saying “well bowled”. And also Bumrah & Konstas got some argument in the middle as well in the 5th test.

This incident has added tension to the series, but Australia won the 5 match series as 2-1.
