Usman Khawaja, the Australian opener, achieved his maiden Test double century on January 30, 2025, during the first Test against Sri Lanka. His remarkable innings of 232 runs significantly contributed to Australia’s commanding position in the match.
This achievement places Khawaja in an elite group, as he becomes only the second Australian to score a double century in Sri Lanka, joining the legendary Don Bradman. He surpassed Justin Langer’s previous record of 166 runs in Colombo in 2004, setting a new benchmark for Australian batsmen in Sri Lanka.

Prior to this, Khawaja’s highest Test score was 195*, achieved against South Africa at the Sydney Cricket Ground in January 2023.
