Sri Lanka’s star batsman Pathum Nissanka suffered with a hip injury during the third ODI against New Zealand on January 11, 2025. He retired hurt after scoring 50* and then came back to crease and scored a brisk 66 off 42 balls and did not field during New Zealand’s innings. Reports suggest that he experienced discomfort while completing a run, and the Sri Lankan team is monitoring his condition closely.
It is reported that Niroshan Dickwella might replace Pathum Nissanka if he is not 100% fit. And also Sri Lanka will miss Pathum Nissanka dearly since he is in great form. Sri Lanka will play 2 tests and two ODI’s starting 29th of January at Galle.
